The Multicultural Women’s Group of Bury St Edmunds (MWG BSE) recently made a donation to Suffolk Refugee Support.
The money (£24.20) was raised by donations for ‘she-shells’: small ceramic objects created by artist Deborah Pipe. The ‘she-shells’ were on display when Charlotte Maguire, FGM officer with Suffolk Refugee Support, came to give a short talk and an interactive workshop at the June coffee morning of MWG BSE.
Marianne Walker, Administration Officer at Suffolk Refugee Support , said: “We are so encouraged by people such as yourselves, who care enough to contribute to running services supporting refugees and asylum seekers who are seeking to rebuild their lives here in Suffolk.
“With your help, we are able to provide services directly to refugees and asylum seekers, to support them in times of particular difficulty or to help them become integrated members of our community.”
Suffolk Refugee Support is a Registered Charity 1078794. For more information, visit their website http://suffolkrefugee.org.uk/
